My Author Had A Few Things To Say About The VMA’s

Mockery At The VMA’s- Are We Really Surprised?

Millions across the United States, if not the world, watched on last night as the VMA’s were kicked off with an inspiring speech by Madonna and then a very touching Michael Jackson tribute. Shortly after, Miranda Cosgrove from the Nickelodeon show iCarly, and some little guy I’ve never seen before (sorry dude it’s true lol), came up to present the award for “Best Female Video” which was then claimed by a very excited Taylor Swift. Personally, I looked on with a smile on my face as the camera panned to Taylor sitting with her mouth hanging open in shock before gathering her wits and heading up to the stage to accept her very first Moon Man.

As she tried to express her gratitude while explaining that she’s a country singer so it was a huge honor for her to win at the VMA’s. Her speech was abruptly cut off as the asshole of the night, none other than Kanye West himself, came on the stage, took the microphone from her hands and said “I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” The camera then panned to a stunned Beyonce who could be seen mouthing the words, “What the heck?”
Kanye’s actions, along with the outraged uproar that followed, ate up the last bit of Taylors stage time and she was then seen waving to a crowd full of mixed feelings before leaving the stage.

Fortunately, Beyonce had a very big heart last night and when she was presented with the award for “Best Video of the Year” she gave her spotlight time up to Taylor stating that- “This is amazing, I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child, it was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So I’d like for Taylor to come out and have her moment. “
I admit to being one with tears in my eyes as Taylor made her way to the stage, hugged Beyonce and said, “Maybe we can try this again?” and went on to thank all the people who had helped get her to where she is now.

To the relief of many viewers it was discovered that Kanye was escorted from the building shortly after his outburst and he apparently went home to take to his blog and make what I thought was a B.S. apology, only done because he’d embarrassed himself, not because he meant it. He was quoted as posting on his blog that- “I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!”
Taking away FROM her moment? Dude you took her entire moment! That poor girl will never ever get that moment back even with the kindness Beyonce showed her later in the show. She will always remember that her first MTV award acceptance was ruined by that asshole Kanye.

I know I don’t need to go into the other occasions that Kanye has made an ass of himself on MTV including one time when he swore he’d never come back for another show after being pumped in favor of having Britney Spears perform.
I can honestly say that I wish they’d just ban Kanye from any future MTV functions, if he receives an award he can just accept it by video. The man is definitely talented and has vision, but it seems to have gone to his head, causing him to think that he can just say and do whatever he wants at the expense of other people’s feelings.

The highlight of my night was when Diddy came on stage to present and mentioned Kanye’s name and the crowd boo-ed emphatically. After jokingly asking, “What did I say?” he then dropped the speech and got on with the nominees.
